1Why did you join Berkeley?
I joined Berkeley to broaden my experience across a number of different industries and variety of consulting engagements. Prior to joining I had consulted in the same industry for six years and was keen to see how transferable my skills were.
It was clear early in the recruitment process that Berkeley would give me the opportunity to achieve this. At each interview stage I had the opportunity to discuss all aspects of consulting at Berkeley directly with one of the partner group. It gave me a sense of the importance that was being placed on recruiting the right people to the firm.
2What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment?
Joining a Financial Services client to conduct an eight week independent programme assurance review and subsequently being asked to continue in the role of Programme Director for a year to implement our recommendations.
During that year as Programme Director we secured multi-million pound sponsorship for an additional two phases of delivery and built out the remainder of the delivery roadmap beyond this. All this was achieved against a backdrop of the company being recently acquired by their parent company, a rapidly evolving organisational design and a significant amount of technical and business process debt due to previous under investment.
3What are you passionate about in life?
The arrival of our first child, Amber, in April 2020 has slightly shifted my priorities outside of work and has definitely made it a lot easier to switch off the laptop at the end of the day! I am a massive armchair sports fan with football, rugby and cricket being top of agenda. Sport aside, I enjoy socialising with friends and getting away to explore new places, all be it a little closer to home than previously.
