1What do you like most about Berkeley?
The people! The strong sense of community and belonging at Berkeley has been evident since joining from a big four consulting company. Berkeley are a really friendly group of people with a wide range of social activities. I had my first experience of a Berkeley social at a New York Giants football game before I had even officially joined the firm, it was my first experience of NFL since moving to the US from Ireland and it was a lot of fun!
I’ve found Berkeley to have a unique culture and one that I’ve not seen before, it feels like a welcoming family run business, working with great clients on their highest priority and most complex challenges. I’ve really felt at home since day one.
2What’s been your favourite assignment and why?
One of my favourite engagements was delivering a new digital home insurance product for the financial services division of a large, UK retailer. I joined as the product owner, leading the team that designed and built the digital front-end. Being involved from programme discovery through launch and seamlessly transitioning the product to BAU was immensely satisfying.
It was a challenging project with aggressive timelines and the complexity of everyone shifting to remote work due to the global pandemic (there were times when I thought we were never going to get over the line). It was very rewarding to work with 100+ people and 19 third-party suppliers for over two years to achieve a common goal and it was a great feeling on go-live day.
3What might people be interested in knowing about you?
I got married last year and have recently moved from Ireland to New York with my wife! When I’m not working my way through the never-ending list of recommendations for restaurants, bars and coffee shops in NYC, I’m playing soccer for New York Shamrocks, on the golf course or supporting Liverpool FC.
