It sounds cliché, but I think I’ve been most impressed with the value that’s placed on building relationships and ensuring personal well-being (for both Berkeley colleagues and clients). When people feel engaged and supported at work, they’re going to do their best work.
Another factor which stands out is the flat employee structure, which means that knowledge-sharing is actively encouraged. The power of collective experience is something that can be tapped into to ensure that clients get more than just the experience of the consultants they employ and also means that we, as consultants are constantly growing.
I always feel a sense of privilege at being trusted with leading any transformation for a client. I love working hands-on with clients and their teams, sharing in both the challenges and the successes on the way to delivering change. This focus on shared experience and shared goals has led to long lasting relationships with my clients and means that even when projects are challenging, there is always room for fun and shared enjoyment!
My South African husband and I live out in rural Hertfordshire with our two sons and three ragdoll cats. We spend time each year travelling to visit family in Cape Town and love the great outdoors and opportunities for wildlife spotting this brings.
I’m also a huge baking enthusiast and love the challenge of trying to master complex french patisserie techniques (emphasis on the word “trying”) - finding the process itself very therapeutic.
